Fertility and Prenatal Coaching

Setting the foundations for a healthy and empowering pregnancy and birth

As a holistic health coach, prenatal yoga teacher and Doula, I help women optimise their health (both mentally and physically), in order to enjoy a healthy and empowering pregnancy and birth experience, and to give their unborn child the best possible start in life.

Why Do You Need a Fertility Coach?

Whether you're currently pregnant, trying to conceive, or you think you might like to birth a child one day, it is never too early (or too late) to improve your health, educate yourself about pregnancy and birth, and to learn techniques and tools that will serve you through this beautiful and sacred rite of passage.

We now know that the health of a child isn't just affected by what we do during pregnancy, it actually begins preconception. That's why it's crucial to begin now (especially given the high number of 'surprise' babies!) to address your health concerns and issues, which will not only make it easier to fall pregnant when/if you choose to (since fertility is, in most cases, the natural outcome of balanced hormones and a sign of good health), but will also ensure that your future child has the best start in life. Similarly, the birth experience, and the 40 days post-birth, play a role in how the next 40 years will unfold for both mother and child. That is why I am passionate about conscious conception and pregnancy, empowering women with the information and confidence they need to own these powerful, transformational experiences, and to thrive both during and after them.

Needing some extra guidance after the birth? I offer a postnatal check-in to help you reflect on and share your birth experience, to make sure you have the support network in place to thrive during this special, sacred time (the 4th trimester), and to help you with any areas you might need some extra guidance in.

FAQ

What is Health Coaching?

Nowadays, GP and doctor consultations usually last less than 15 minutes, and most often they will simply prescribe something for your individual symptom(s), rather than addressing the root cause of the issue. This is where a health coach comes in. A health coach is there to help you dig deeper to understand the root cause(s) of your issues, to help clarify and find ways to overcome the obstacles that are preventing you from achieving your health goals, and to provide you with the tools you need to make lasting change in your life.

What does a Health Coach do?

A health coach is kind of like a cheerleader; someone who is there to support you and provide you the encouragement you need to achieve your goals. I offer tips and recommendations each session, but my main role is to empower you to take your health into your own hands, to learn to listen to your body, and to help you overcome whatever obstacles are holding you back from achieving lasting change. Having someone hold you accountable to your health commitments also increases the likelihood that you will implement the changes you need into your life.

Where does your health coaching take place?

Coaching sessions take place online over Google Meets (you don't need to have a Google account to join). Try to find a quiet place to take the call if possible, somewhere you won't be disturbed. For the postnatal coaching session, I can also offer this service in-person, in your home, if you live in the West End of Glasgow.

What's the recommended length of time?

For fertility (preconception) coaching I recommend between 6 and 12 sessions, depending on your goals and health concerns. If you just want some extra advice on how to be as healthy as possible preconception then 6 sessions may be enough; for more specific health issues 12 sessions may be needed. For prenatal coaching (if you are already pregnant) 6 sessions may be enough.
We can discuss your needs and which package would be most appropriate during the free consultation.

What if I change my mind, or something comes up and I can't commit to the programme?

By signing up for health coaching, you are making a serious commitment to yourself and your health as well as to me. However, I understand that sometimes things happen that are out of our control, so I offer a 14 day 'cool off' period; if you cancel within 14 days of signing up to the programme you will receive a full refund (minus the cost of any sessions you had during the 14 days). After the 14 days there is a £50 cancellation fee plus the pro rata share of the programme that has been delivered.

Do you offer any kind of discounts?

Yes, I offer a 10% student discount with valid ID. I want to make health coaching as accessible as I can as I believe everyone needs this knowledge; if you are experiencing severe financial and economic hardship please get in touch and we can see what we can do.
